Navigate and embody key roles in leadership to effectively lead and manage change in schools and organizations.
Program Overview
This program trains leaders to employ situational leadership styles in working with teachers and staff to frame the future, take charge in the present, get buy-in, and champion people and process in times of crisis or transition. During this program, we coach participants to be both leaders and managers of change in their communities.
Exploring leadership roles through the lens of theater allows exploration of the four most needed roles in managing change and when best to use them. In this program, participants will explore the four distinct roles of Captain, Conceiver, Collaborator and Champion. Through role playing and other exercises, participants practice how to effectively switch between roles as they navigate different challenges and contexts such as change management, times of chaos or crisis, and the day-to-day needs of their school or organizational communities.
This workshop can be offered in two formats:
1. Individual leaders across multiple schools focus on change management in their communities. Participants can benefit from engaging with a cross-section of leaders across different contexts and engage in discourse around common challenges and best practices.
2. Leadership teams within one school collaborate to strengthen their practices and build cohesion around the topic of change management and response to transition. Leadership teams can benefit from a workshop experience that is customized for their team.
