ANDREA ZUÑIGA — BOSTON, MA
Andrea Zuñiga has been an educator for over 20 years— across that time, she has focused on community arts work, program design, professional development, youth advocacy, budget management, and advocacy for social justice, inclusion, and diversity in the arts. Born in New York and raised in both Guatemala and California, she is passionate about intersectionality, equity, and supportive mentorship.
Andrea cares deeply about academic and artistic enrichment programming for under-served communities, community engagement, and social justice advocacy. In her current role, she oversees the district-wide visual and performing arts for a public school district.
Andrea also brings a robust background in and love for the arts to her facilitation with Inspiring Educators. Artistically, Andrea began her training in theater directing, producing, playwriting, and performance art. She performs Latin American and international folk music as a vocalist. She also developed and presents on the history of political music, and music for social change. She has worked extensively in theater and sings trova, canto nuevo and other genres.
Andrea holds a B.A. in English and Political Science from UCLA and a M.Ed. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
